What to Expect During a Pageant Weekend: A Day-by-Day Guide for Contestants

What to Expect at Crown City Pageant: A Three-Day Journey

Preparing for a pageant can feel exciting, meaningful, and a little nerve-wracking - especially if it’s your first time competing. At Crown City Pageant, we believe the experience should be about much more than a crown.

Crown City Pageant Inc. is a Toronto-based pageant where we crown Miss, Ms., and Mrs. Toronto. Our pageant celebrates women not simply for their appearance, but for who they are, what they stand for, and the impact they are making in their communities.

We are looking for women with meaningful stories, strong values, ambitious goals, and a desire to make a difference. Many of our contestants are entrepreneurs or aspiring entrepreneurs who are building businesses, personal brands, community initiatives, and purpose-driven projects while using their voices and platforms to give back.

The pageant weekend is designed to bring these women together, celebrate their individuality, and give them an opportunity to grow, connect, and shine.

Here is what contestants can expect throughout the three-day Crown City experience.

Day One: Sash Ceremony, Meet & Greet & Sisterhood

The first day is all about celebrating the women who are beginning their Crown City journey.

Sash Ceremony

The weekend begins with a special sash ceremony where contestants officially receive their Crown City sashes.

Receiving your sash is more than simply putting on a title. It represents the beginning of a journey - one that encourages contestants to embrace their stories, use their voices, and represent their communities with pride.

This is also the perfect opportunity to capture beautiful photos and create memories with the other contestants.

Meet & Greet

After the sash ceremony, contestants will have the opportunity to meet one another in a relaxed environment.

The goal is to create connections from the very beginning and help contestants feel comfortable with the women they will be sharing this experience with.

Light food and refreshments will be provided while contestants get to know each other, share their backgrounds, and begin building friendships.

At Crown City, we want contestants to see one another not simply as competition, but as women who can support, encourage, and celebrate each other.

Day Two: Interviews, Photoshoot & Social Night

The second day focuses on connection, confidence, storytelling, and celebrating each contestant as an individual.

Interviews With Queens & Industry Leaders

One of the most meaningful parts of the Crown City experience is the opportunity to connect with women who have already built their own journeys in the pageant world and beyond.

Contestants will participate in interviews with queens from different platforms across Ontario.

These conversations give contestants an opportunity to share their personal stories, discuss their advocacy work and ambitions, and talk about the impact they hope to make.

The interview experience is not simply about giving the "perfect" answer. It is about allowing your personality, values, experiences, and purpose to come through.

Professional Contestant Photoshoot

Contestants will also participate in a professional photoshoot.

This is an opportunity to step in front of the camera, practice posing and presence, and capture professional images from your Crown City journey.

Whether you already have modeling experience or this is your first professional photoshoot, the goal is to help you feel confident, comfortable, and authentically yourself.

Pajama Party & Social Gathering

After a full day of interviews and photos, contestants will have the opportunity to relax and enjoy a more casual evening together.

The social gathering may take the form of a pajama party - relaxed social night, complete with food, conversation, games, and plenty of laughter.

No gowns. No stage. No competition.

Just an opportunity to take off the heels, be yourself, and enjoy the sisterhood that makes the pageant experience so memorable.

Day Three: Finale, Evening Gown, On-Stage Questions & Crowning

The third day is where the journey comes together.

After spending the weekend getting to know one another, sharing stories, and preparing for the stage, contestants will step into the spotlight for the final event.

Evening Gown Walk

The evening gown segment celebrates elegance, confidence, individuality, and stage presence.

Contestants will have the opportunity to showcase a gown that represents their personal style while walking the stage with confidence.

The focus isn't on wearing the most expensive dress. It's about how you carry yourself, how you present yourself, and the confidence you bring to the stage.

On-Stage Questions

The on-stage question segment gives contestants an opportunity to speak from the heart.

Contestants may be asked about topics connected to their experiences, values, goals, advocacy, leadership, or the issues they care about.

This portion allows the audience and judges to see the woman behind the gown and the title.

There is no need to have a perfectly rehearsed answer. The goal is to communicate authentically, think confidently, and allow your personality and perspective to shine.

The Crowning Moment

Finally comes the moment everyone has been waiting for - the crowning.

Miss Toronto, Ms. Toronto, and Mrs. Toronto will be crowned and begin their year of service as representatives of Crown City Pageant.

But the crowning is only one part of the journey.

Every woman who participates brings her own story, accomplishments, advocacy, ambitions, and dreams to the Crown City stage. The experience is designed to celebrate those qualities and give each contestant an opportunity to leave feeling more confident, connected, and inspired.

More Than a Pageant

At Crown City Pageant, we believe a crown should represent purpose, not perfection.

We want to create a space where women with big hearts, strong values, meaningful stories, and ambitious dreams feel seen, celebrated, and supported.

Whether you are an entrepreneur building your business, an advocate working to create change, a professional pursuing your goals, a mother, a community leader, or simply a woman ready to challenge herself and grow, there is space for your story at Crown City.

The three-day experience is designed to create more than a competition. It is an opportunity to build connections, share your voice, celebrate your individuality, and become part of a community of women who want to make a difference.

Your story matters. Your purpose matters. And your crown should represent both.
